We believe readers should know how a website earns money. This page explains it in plain language.
How this site earns
Diwali Special Deals earns in two ways:
- Selling products. Diyas, decor, puja kits and hampers, sold on cash on delivery through this site. This is our main business.
- Advertising. Blog articles and some other pages show advertisements served by Google AdSense. When you see or click an ad, Google pays us a small amount. This helps cover the cost of researching and writing the free guides on this site.
How the ads are chosen
We do not pick individual advertisers. Google’s systems choose which ads appear, based on the content of the page and, if you have consented to advertising cookies, your interests as inferred from your browsing on this and other sites. You can turn off personalised ads at Google Ads Settings. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain the cookies involved.
An ad appearing on this site is not a recommendation from us. We have no relationship with the advertisers and cannot vouch for their products.
Where ads appear, and where they do not
Ads appear on blog articles, the blog index, and some information pages. To keep the shopping experience clear, we do not show third-party ads on product pages, the cart or the checkout. Every ad is labelled as an advertisement or sponsored, as Google’s policies require.
How advertising affects our content
It does not change what we write. Our articles are written first for usefulness. We do not write articles to attract particular advertisers, and we do not let advertising revenue decide which topics we cover. If an article recommends a type of product, that is because we think it is useful; the article will link to our own catalogue where we sell it, and say so plainly.
Our own products in articles
Articles often link to categories on this store, such as Diyas & Lights or Puja Essentials. These are links to our own shop. We do not earn any commission from them beyond the normal profit on a sale, and we try to link only where the product genuinely fits the topic.
Affiliate links
At the time of writing, we do not use affiliate links. If that changes, any article containing affiliate links will carry a clear notice at the top, this page will be updated, and the links will be marked as sponsored in the page code as search engines require.
Sponsored content
We do not currently publish sponsored posts or paid reviews. If we ever do, the article will be clearly labelled “Sponsored” at the top.
Reviews and testimonials
We do not publish customer reviews or testimonials that we cannot verify, and we never write our own. Any review shown on a product page comes from a customer who placed an order on this site.
